Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

A good nail salon is high on my short list of things I should never stop at. It’s where I’ve gotten my first and last salon manicure ever and where I’ve been curious to learn how to ever improve my nails. As evidenced by my mounting hand and tablet issues, I don’t have the time to take that many tips to get my nail growth out of the ground.

I can come out alive!

Because of the good planning and restraint I’ve cultivated, and the product I’ve come to love by having my nails my way, I’ve been lucky enough to grow nails out much faster than those of the average woman.

From my journey through the nail salon jungle, here are six tips I picked up that will maximize my nail growth.

Tips for Raising Nails

Gently get your hands out of the water when you’re ready to use the shampoo.

For the next couple of days, keep your nails in a towel with moisture to support the nail growth.

Grab and wash your hands before going to bed, and remember to use lots of sunscreen and apply plenty of lip balm.

From here, your nails should be looking stronger and much healthier after you shave.

How to Keep Nails Your Way

Because of the length of the nail – and because it grows towards the hand, not over it – trying to shorten nail lengths increases the likelihood of breakage. Nail-long nails will support your hands during heavy times of use, like fending off your children when they’re full of toilet paper. For that reason, getting your nails as long as possible is the best investment for long-term nail health.

When you go to the salon, make a reservation for a salon professional to help you out.

Spend plenty of quality time with your nail specialist. Be present and engaged, and don’t be afraid to ask questions and even struggle a bit to find the answer you’re looking for.

Nail-biting is one of the most common nailing issues, but it can also be a psychological issue. Difficulties occur when your hand is a snack for several nails. So stick to a dry diet and to a strict routine. The key to end biting is to counteract your comfort level by finding something you enjoy doing yourself to unwind. This might be reading, listening to music, getting a massage or sending texts. We get excited, and it causes stress. For some people, this stimulates part of the brain responsible for stress and anxiety. For me, the therapy of writing has been a lifesaver in helping to combat my nail biting. And yes, my writing is okay!

Keep nail clippings at home for your nails to nurture during the nurturing phase. Storing clippings helps soothe an upset feeling. I store mine in a jar of Vaseline in a pantry located in my place. I keep my clippings in the jugs periodically, but when I’m stressed, it’s very hard to resist asking for clippings because I can’t stand to see my nails being neglected.

Brush your nails with cool water as soon as you feel them grow.

Use salt water to replenish your skin cells.

Forever growing nails takes a strong work ethic, not to mention lots of patience. And with those qualities comes a lifetime of manicures. Once my nails have grown to around 5”, I’m home free.
