Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

We mentioned the amazing gourmet doughnuts we got at All At One Bakery on the same day we sat down to talk to famous celebrity manicurist Stacey Bendet. She’s known to give nail art looks like the famous wet lipped eye (if we’re being honest) and a manicure that looks like a toadstool with home meal replacement shakes. When it comes to nails, the whimsical nail art entrepreneur serves more than cookies. “I love designing and really prioritizing my clients’ nails — they have to be my top concern and they have to look good,” said Bendet. We quickly found ourselves talking shop about all things manicure.

What Is the Cutest Thing Anyone’s Ever Done on Their Nails?

Bendet loves nothing more than making a girl’s nails look like a paint-by-numbers print. She said that of all her clients that approach her for a custom color, the cutest thing people have done on their nails was the Chanel cookie stick. We learned that this is a print on a piece of paper that the talented manicurist puts in a rectangular size. She believes in applying these small pieces in a square pattern to add a crisp finish to the nail’s overall look.

What She Suggests For a Valentines Day Manicure

Bendet always opts for red and rose pinks for Valentine’s Day. She explained that when you mix a few rose petals with the polish, it creates a great buttery look. “All the rose petals give the nails a real soft, buttery base,” she said. We then discussed the look she gave us for a Valentine’s Day manicure. She used Caslon Beauty’s Strut scrub and Strut nail scrubttes ($12), adding a hint of the French manicure. She then added two coats of Saint Laurent Magnifique ($31) and two coats of Nails Inc Extra Volume in sky-high triple tahini ($29). We loved the look!

What Every Woman Needs

Bendet made it sound so simple, but it’s true. She believes in investing in some high-quality products. She loves using Nails Inc Extra Volume in space black ($29) and AMX Eyeliner in almost gray-black ($17). “Then you have the clothes, art, and music,” she added.

How She Works With Her Eyeliner Artist

Bendet explained that she works with a mannequin that is available for consultation. The nail art artist first sees the mannequin before putting on the nail polish. They make sure the eye makeup is perfect, and then the pair will reference each other until they’re sure they have a look together.

What She Reads in Her “More (Nail) Art Book”

Bendet loves a lot of music books, including books about culture, history, music, and film. She makes sure to read one book from each book in her “More (Nail) Art Book” every few months. She said that every nail is very, very special. “You have this ability to bring out whatever you want to bring out. We’ve lived our lives, and we leave a mark on the world, but you can make a statement from just a nail,” she said.
