Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

The Great Good Northeastern Green Festival was this past weekend, which is exciting because it means you can finally plan your lunar-mining project in your favorite hair salon — I know it’s an investment, but a hair salon with exotically flavored cocktails and hangers with seashells is what science needs these days. Here’s what you need to know:

The panel that held the three-day festivities was hosted by the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and held on a sunny Friday afternoon at YMCA Brooklyn Center in Fort Greene. Over the course of the day, notables such as architecture and costume designer and Brooklyn native Rachel Mansur (“Desperate Housewives,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation”) took to the stage to discuss their work, and museum curator Brian Manning stopped by to share details on his pioneering works on the New York Historical Society’s collection of decorative arts. What followed was a cocktail hour, live music, special events and more happenings that made up the four-day festival.

On the panel, beauty gurus involved in the upcoming Guy Fieri Nail Bar featured six manicurists who worked their magic on a three-day period and then shared their results with one another and Fieri, who will debut his brand new nail bar location at Terminal 5 in February. Fieri will expand the food offerings at the new space to include wings. And don’t worry about manicurists whose carts didn’t show up on Fieri’s team list — he was happy to reward their efforts.

In true Fieri fashion, the panelists were energetic, articulate and all — to say the least — over-the-top. The first nail ambassador to share her work revealed that when she first got her first car, she didn’t care about using a safety belt because “I was so big and so old, I knew I would go head first.” The second nail artist, Meagan Norton, said she always preferred working with DIY nail polish as opposed to with professionals in a salon. “Who are you to tell me what I should and shouldn’t be doing?” The rest of the group shared similar memories: the age of 16 when they realized they had something on their hands that others would drool over and the tips that show up on other people’s nails.
