Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

I wear many hats. Acting and hosting, writing, promoting books, raising kids. But I will say it; my mani-pedi is one of my favorites. I take my love for manicures seriously, and I absolutely love how polished nails make me feel, too. Nails are the final touch to a great look. In that case, however, I’ll gladly admit that I have a serious “trust issues” when it comes to beauty. My girl is more drawn to dark, mysterious hues. But in all seriousness, if anyone is a girl on the go, who makes a lot of short trips to the bathroom, the only thing that comes to mind is a powdery, dull polish that makes getting dressed difficult. But luckily, all the beauty wisdom I’ve learned throughout my life has made me realize that I could do this all on my own. As many women of many cultures, my life has been about finding balance, balancing my time with work, friends, family, and all of the projects I need to accomplish. Nails come in all shapes and sizes and are bound to meet your liking.

Aside from taking two minutes to get done what you need to get done, I also want you to know a few tips and tricks that will make your mani-pedi experience more relaxing, invigorating, and, yes, a little bit sexy. To start, think about your manicure like a massage. Set aside at least 30 minutes for a DIY manicure and pedicure. Save the salon because you’ll save yourself a lot of money. I used to scrimp on polish, but then I realized that I was paying more than I needed to. Not only was my butt a little sore after the smooth session, but I also had my whole face itchy. I thought if I could do my nails myself, I’d have less of a chance of blistering. Plus, you don’t need to have a lot of polish left on your nails to do a little extra on top like a generous buff.

Gone are the days of scraping off polish from your nails; today’s adhesives allow easy removal without harsh chemicals, and you can even dab some on top of your soap for a DIY beauty day. Take note of your nail polish color for ease of removal. I just love it when I look past my nails and see the actual polish. I’m not a makeup-girl by any means, so I keep my nails natural. And let’s be honest; there are some who tend to wear lots of nail polish. I have tried every hue. I’ve painted over my natural color in order to see the different colors. Unfortunately, the ends tend to become dull and brittle, so I often pop it off. Not that you should never wear black nail polish if you’re into that trend. That’s a beautiful, polished look for sure. And any girl will tell you that it looks great with a warm nude, polka dot, or something on the opposite end of the manicure spectrum.

Nail art is another idea to get the most out of your mani-pedi. Use a color polish that matches your hands and apply polka dots. Just cut the shape out with a brush and glue. If you’re on the slightly more creative side, you can do a dual design or some flowers and leaves.

I’ve helped my kids do this to get some color on their nails. I love the thought of doing a stencil or doing a V-shape shape to create a soft, long-lasting shine. Your family will love it and so will you. Remember that the big guy in the mirror isn’t just there to watch you get into bed and think. He is there to pamper and embellish your natural beauty.
