Nail Art
On the sunny days we decided to do our nails. Very little, did we take care to shower before rinsing. Anyway, before long the feet began to feel very dull. On days such as these, I try to drink lemon juice instead of perfume. Let’s say a big dose; it helps you drink lot to cleanse the skin, it even helps fight dehydration. Because I suffer from Nastiness, a little bit goes a long way. However, I thought of a small dose that works wonders on it. You may think that I am joking, but I really do like grape juice that it really does clear up the skin and improves the moisturization. I applied some on the tops of my toes and it cleared away the dirt. Painting
It was that very first day that we h to paint our nails. Little did I realize what an experience it would be! One morning we h a swim party as I was leaving to start my job. We were inside the house and only one of us h the excuse of not feeling like doing it. And just like that, as I was holding on for dear life, my black nail brush, which I h been using, tumbled down on me, totally flattening and chipping on the surface. I went to place my hand under the running fan that was blowing out the window and I noticed that the color underneath, which was covered in white peels, were crumbling. The color was showing through and I panicked and ran to the mirror to look at it. It looked like the nail h started to bleed. So, we gathered up all our cash and got ready to go swimming. As I h my water bottle on the left hand side of the room, and her with her nail brush on the right, when I looked to the right, the nails looked like something you saw in a dark room. And I ran to the right in time before it fell apart. Ticking Totsies
My hands were extremely sore and I could barely hold my hands up. I decided that I would give my hands a break. I got a razor and one toothbrush to wear, and proceeded to go up to the kitchen to do my nails. As the owner of the knife and the toothbrush, I did my nails for half an hour straight while drinking some lemon juice. In the meantime, I decided to take out my right heel and nail my toe. The pain was not unbearable, but I did feel the difference in the manicure. It cleared out the top layer of the nail polish and loosened up my old tan nail polish and it looked better.Dry I Took
I got into my shoes on my way to work, and I really felt so dry. I really tried not to worry and not to do much other than finding something to wash my hands with and rub it with thoroughly. I was really concerned when I saw my right heel was barely smooth, and the left one h started to thin out. But this is what I got, just something to make me feel good, something to give me a little bit of body, all in all. And I really believe that my nails have a deeper purpose. They prevent infection and save me from fungus and bacteria when getting naked. So, I actually gave my nails a break. My name is Jill and I own a hairdresser in Chicago. I started working there this past September. It’s a beautiful shop and they have an abundance of other people’s hair. I h been looking for a place where I could be satisfied while bringing my clients and if I can do that, then I am happy. But, a place to do nails is not something I crave. I’m not sure if it’s why I never got interested in nails but really, I never h the desire to take a bath without my nails.
But, a few months ago, I looked into purchasing my very first self-care item. I h my nails done at a salon and they were a treat for me. I did them just for the old school lace feel, doing a full body massage on them in the chair without using anything on them. They felt like old-fashioned nails. To me, that feels really beautiful. I took them to Mr. Hank’s nail salon in Washington D.C.
“I was thinking of getting a long-sleeve top or something. They are not for everybody but I just thought it would make the most of my hair situation and keep me looking good. You always want to look good, whether you wear your hair up or down and I have always found that wearing long-sleeve tops just puts a lot of attention on your outfit.” – Christine
Fresh and Clear, but It is Still Messy
My nails recently went away a little. I got this one from Dina La Bella in New York that has a waterproof color and when I got it back it was quite chipped. My nails start to flake and my nails get dry and chipped. So, I started picking some new colors. I looked at some other colors in the case and I was like, “these look nice and clean but there is still a little amount of messiness. I am kind of loving them.”
So, I called my own nail tech and she took my nails and gave them a cuticle bath. “I wash my nails with a certain type of soak.” I told her they needed it and she came with this cuticle bath with soap and a container. I was just so happy that I could have this cuticle bath, because before I didn’t have a clue and my nails would start chipping very, very quickly.
“I already have about three coats, and they are like really long and I love them! I have mixed them with a bit of olive oil and you can really feel the cuticle.” – Natalie
A Rose-Pink Beauty Cleanser
I love to look my best. I love to look as fresh as possible, especially when I come home from work. I’m just starting to fall into this new routine of using a cleanser with rose petals on it. It’s very convenient because I can travel and I have friends in the city, so they have to get their nails done while I’m at work. I see them at the salon in the morning and then I start at home. I usually use a clear-gel cleanser because I have to do hair and makeup. I use it in the shower and it’s really so effective because when you wash it, it cleans your skin and the makeup that you’ve applied. The rose petals actually accentuate the scent of my home and it’s just so good.”
“I think it’s gorgeous. I’m not much into nails. I am a really flat nail person. For me, the most important thing is not having to brush your nails really often and making sure you wash them out. I think they are essential for a woman.” – Belinda
