Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

Whether it’s damage to your polish from washing in the shower or damp clothing, you’ve heard them all before: spend a few minutes to go over your nails so they look more vibrant and aren’t so thick or brittle! Any type of dry, cracked or damaged nails can look bad, but you can find a home remedy that will result in cute manicures and put a smile on your face. Plus, these little tricks are easier to execute in your kitchen than in a salon.

If your nails are cracked and dead, you’re probably looking for a spring clean before you start to polish (although cleaning is a good idea regardless of dry nails).

Invest in an inexpensive container filled with beads: put a square piece of bread in the bottom, gently pull it off, and fill the bowl with clear gel polish.

Apply the product onto the top of your nails.

Leave the polish on for one to three minutes so the bead hardens.

The next day, remove the bead and your nails will look bright and shiny with a fresh polish.

Tip: Before touching any polish to your nails, you should look on the packaging for the pH levels. We found some to be off by as much as a pH4, which means the polish will be far too acidic for your nails. So be cautious as you try out different brand colors and plucking pieces of your nail.

You may also be able to treat dry nails at home.

Looking for a traditional base coat? You can apply a dry polish like Elle Macpherson Body Expert this way, and it’ll instantly give your nails a shine. Then, pop in a marionette polish in your favorite color. And to achieve the right shine, remember to give it a good rub.
