All it takes is one pair of bright orange Nail Mania polish to liven up your dry days of Winter, and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Also, I only used occasional color, and that didn’t cause me any more headaches than putting on more than one color per day of a collection of eight or 10 a week.

My obsession with neon nail polish started with the startup’s signature cold-pressed cosmetic line, which yielded cult favorites like Doctor’s Choice. As the girl who grew up in Michigan wearing cotton, strappy, cut-offs and airbrushed-on eye shadow makeup, I wanted to be different. While I loved the collection’s gold and silver nudes, I couldn’t stop staring at the bright pops of color like you’d expect with brighter pop-culture brands like MAC.

So when Nail Mania started designing sets from various designs, I only set my allowance aside for the glitter and glitter and glitter. When they came to my base color, I sank in, snagged the items off the hanger, and finally let it all hang out in a bright orange gradient polish.
