For a fresh image, Nail Inc. has created six Instagram Accounts for new moms, all with the same goal in mind: sharing photos of baby’s fingernails. The accounts, Nail Inc., Life of a Momma Nail, Little Squibbles, Disney Nails, Baby Weaves, Pixie Little Nails, and Loea Years, post photos of newborn’s on social media with accompanying captions to show just how tender and sweet they are. The beautiful images — parents either holding their baby close and laughing with them, or playing with their tiny tootsies — will melt your heart.

And while our babies are growing up to be ladies like Emma Watson and Gigi Hadid, what most of these pictures lack is the kinds of specific instructions on how to take them — and how to properly clip them — up on how to clip newborn’s nails.

There is no official Nail Inc. procedure, for example. As its Twitter page states, “We don’t recommend doing a bad job with your baby’s nails. We’re here to help you do your best.” Either way, the company recommends keeping newborn’s nails this short as it gives you “room to work.”

The same instructions are laid out in Nail Inc.’s blog, Mommy’s Blogger, which explains that you can clip newborn’s toenails in a few different ways depending on the age of your baby. Younger babies are best served with a sharp prongs, while older babies tend to benefit from a clean, long piece of wood with a delicate filigree or piece of mother’s caress against it.

Most importantly, according to the company, make sure you nail your baby to the bed first to get the perfect shape, and note that mothers should allow enough time between the time their baby’s nails grow and get to the point where you can pull out the manicure tool.
