But my mistakes are no reflection on the entire nail-art team. We learned, you too, that it’s not just your fingernails that keep the rest of your body free of worry. Far from it! And for 2019’s new and improved nail art trend, we’ve got some swanky pointers to help you do the same!
Lump it in!
Go with the total opposite of your face shape! The smaller they are, the harder they are to work with! Nails shouldn’t be formed like a fluttering butterfly! Opt for square or pillar like shapes because they will look softer and give a more feminine appearance. (Tip: You might want to leave out these totally useless embellishments, like a thick line of glitter and soft floral graphics.)

Stick with metals!
Aluminum or silver are the best to choose, as both are sustainably produced, and the new mayo is more than keeping up to date, it’s so good! Feel free to love glitter, too, it’s a great look, but be aware that fuchsia and gold must be monochromatic, or you risk turning it into a little too glitzy.
Set ’em right!
Take a cue from interior design and use decorative nails as a great setting. Choose six plus one exact pattern, such as silk rose, tweed tweed, quilted mohair, or cherry-red, and then run your nail art through various drying cycles. Incorporate textures, too! For a cool modern look, start off with copper and then move to glitter or oil for more color. If you want to use a night theme, how about a cherry blossom or flowery design.
How about adding skin-hugging textures or garments to mirror your beauty look? Take a cue from Miranda Kerr and shoes, or Victoria Beckham, and add your nails into an ensemble. You could also just do a silky leopard polish or something soft and white.
Wear nail polish in small colors for a different aesthetic. Just imagine sequins!
Some designers like Zac Posen and Chloe showcased pop-flair nail polish shades in their Spring 2019 collections! Take it as inspiration and go all out with the tips. Also, why not wear emerald green, the ultimate black-tie polish?

It’s not always fun to plan your wedding until you figure out what your nail color will be! These stylish options make for a (semi) Instagrammable event!
Should you leave a pair at home?
Stop being our bad habits. If you don’t have the time to draw anything in, why not keep yours empty? You could also opt for a clear and angled or adorned polish, which is like clear for the polish-happy. You can even leave some extra space on the tips to make them appear fuller and larger.
Choose a color that’s for you and not for other people!
Why not choose a nice, subtle shade that you aren’t afraid to show off? You can also take it one step further, instead of choosing a neutral, pick a color that will suit your personal style. Say you like to wear nude, choose a nude that will look like sand, then finish off with a drop of color on the tips for texture. Pair a nude with white or something soft for a more casual approach.
