Short nails are definitely out — but why did it take us so long to figure it out? Once we finally embrace the skinny trend, we can’t stop obsessing over our toe nails. Each of these quick and simple nail trends is guaranteed to stand out like a trendy classic. And you thought monotone manicures were in style? LOL.
Consider this the commencement of the next five years of your life (if you don’t grow out your nails by then, it might be on you. Probably. ) From french manicures to directional painted sections, these six fast and easy nails tips will help you make the most of your digits. These tips will even make a resounding statement in front of your colleagues, friends, or your parents.
Put on your dancing shoes: Cats are a lot of fun. But why would you wear one on your nails? Not only are these short and trendy toppers pretty, but they’re also a flattering color combo. So for your little mermaid friend, paint a thin edge on the “tail.” (One suggested choice: Mermaid Green.) Take your time: Nail artist Angelo David says, “If you don’t brush your nail between polish changes, the extension could wear out before nails completely grow out.” You don’t want to overdo it with color, do you? Pay attention to color wavelength: According to Angelo, blue shades do great for large exposed areas like your palms, elbows, and the tip of your index finger. These shades typically fade quickly, but they’re a great choice for larger patches. Doing the leg: Forget about asymmetrical nail art. (Let’s get back to leggings in a hot second, shall we?) This leaves you with space in between the tips of your nails — an excellent option for drawing a heart shape. It’s also easier than you think: Nail design expert Stephen M. Senderos suggests a portion of longer-lasting oil on the tip of your nail and apply it between coats of polish. Begin the stretch with “Short Nails,” an exercise that uses different ways to stretch your acrylic nails without the need for sharpened scissors. Blue tips: Get fancy with a blue tip. Just follow these simple steps to get started: Clean out area around nail to reveal nail (don’t touch the cuticle). Loosen topcoat. Use the bottom third of your nail — almost as a flat surface to apply oil. Finish with topcoat.
The trend for 2019
Only time will tell if short nails will become as popular as block nails and cuticle studs. Either way, we know that sticking with our current fashion is the only way to go. In the meantime, these are a few fast tips to help you get the most of your short nails in just a few hours.
