This summer’s nail trends are officially behind us, and I’m sad. You can thank me later! In the meantime, I’m happy to say that you’re not entirely out of the running when it comes to these blurring trends. The next few months, I have high hopes that we’ll see some fresh ideas for Spring ’19. Until then, here are four nail trends that I predict will take the world by storm.

Toscano Stones

Toscano stones remind me of the past, rather than the future.

Although accessories take centre stage in the nail world, I’ve also noticed a rise in beauty trends all around the world. From nail art and 3D flowery nail art, to very simple top coats that are meant to last forever, there are not many beauty trends I find challenging, even for a nail expert like me.

But the one trend that keeps me really excited is nail art that actually took a route less travelled and included a whole lot of sculpture-like elements. I’ve witnessed nail art rise and fall like a bubble while simultaneously fighting the concept of what nail art could possibly be, with several iterations and cycles to share with you. This rise and fall has been accompanied by an explosion of wild and intricate patterns, each of which receives a large, dedicated fan base for its unique appeal.

In case the budding trend you’re all excited about doesn’t have the texture you desire, don’t worry. Brands all over the world offer up an exhaustive list of crayons, glitter varnishes, and polishes infused with brilliant natural accents for you to play with. Choose wisely!

Lace Nails

Linen fabric has taken on a ’90s status, so naturally it’s somehow fitting that it would be front and center in the nail design world.

It’s a popular trend that’s very slightly further along in the beauty universe than it is in the nail game. While I’m a fan of ultra-feminine styles, ’90s trends always catch my fancy, and it’s a woman’s choice as to whether she wants to embrace a trend that has such a retro vibe or opt for something that’s totally new.

Given its space of late, I’m hoping to see a floral lace effect take on a sexy, mani. A mere swipe of your gel or top coat would be a great way to rock the look.

Limyck

Creamier, lighter, and finer, this pencil type nail has been making its way back into the nail game over the past few years. It took a little while, but this cat-eye-like shade is definitely looking like the best of both worlds.

After all, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of polish mingle, right?

Neon-Colored Nails

Wanting to stick to the sleek, feline vibe of this particular trend, I’ve had my eyes on neon, but a recent foray into the world of neon nails left me stumped.

I spoke to fellow beauty editors and two of them actually have a major love for bright neon and beauty products, so it wasn’t so shocking to find that the nail industry had also caught on and been influenced by this trend. And that’s why I’m stumped when it comes to getting behind this particular nail trend.

It’s not that I dislike the trend. In fact, I hope we see it in springtime. But there are a ton of nail options that would work just as well. For example, carbonite and thermoplastic silver are two cool and chic yet versatile options to try for your everyday manicure.

Maybe this is a good time to move to a deeper shade of gray, since bright neon-coloured glitter nails would be a crime against nature.
