Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

Nail technicians are often told to change their water, oil, and cuticle oil every week, according to the American Manicurist Association (AMAA). But those hydrating agents may actually be detrimental to your nails.

One top nail technician, Andrea Penbrook from Shea Nails in Miramar, Florida, has a few ingenious “tips” to consider.

We are obsessed with spic-and-span mani/pedis, but it takes me at least 15 minutes to clean my hands afterwards! So, instead of washing your hands, I’ll throw the clean parts in my sink and pop a towel under my sink instead. I’ll dip my hand in warm water and use the towel to wipe off any yucky bits!

Today, I started my health-nut journey. After showering and rocking my gads all day, I pulled myself out of the bathroom, took a deep breath, and then put one foot in front of the other and walked out the door! No more manicure cleaning, no more time to let greasy cuticles and two missed nail appointments later, and definitely no more bare digits. This afternoon, I started with black nail polish, followed by a flat-iron to pull up the leftover oils, followed by a glass of water!
