Spring is a fantastic time to look ahead to summer. There is a whole host of excitement in store for us once we know what exciting trends will be hitting stores come Spring 2020.

Whether you’re a home crafts enthusiast or not, one of our favorite things to do this season is to create our own unique nail art. These images will help you get started with your Spring and Summer designs.

The spring and summer nail trends should be brief, light, and colourful. It’s the perfect time to tackle what we’ll love in the Summer and sometimes on the Autumnal Equinox too. To create our quick but versatile designs, we like to base them on the essentials. Make sure your nail art can be a little pricey, because we don’t want to look like you don’t have a budget at all!

Here are some of our favourite Spring and Summer nails that you can recreate yourself.

Swarovski Crystal Nails by Murad

For super minimal nails, try this festive and vibrant set. The style consists of mauve glitter tips with crystals all over the nails and underneath. To perfect the look, start by taking your nail polish off and then apply a top coat, white gel for clean lines, and a black one if you want a lot of shine. You can dip your nails in a nude nail polish base for clean nails. Remove the manicure after a few minutes and give it a solid wipe with a sponge or cotton ball to remove any dust and dirt particles.

To get this particular look, you’ll need: Black Paintbrush, Headband, Blue or Red Painted Nails in Outrider by Saint Laurent, Flesh Red, Modern Multi-Colour, Purple Yellow, Tweezerman Mirror Tap Paint, Nail Flexible Plate, Nail Springroll

For fun ones that mix textures and colors, try this eye-catching bun!

Eye Bun by West Hawthorne London

East is the best option when it comes to eye-catching nail designs and this trick is a perfect example of how to do something unique with a simple nail art. Although I understand this look is more about creating drama than finding the perfect shade, the easiest way to do it is by starting with a stain base coat. Once you’ve removed the base coat, then, take your base coat out of the bottle, then use your brush, and lightly stroke on a liner brush. Do the same to make sure you don’t end up with a mess. Then, use the eyeliner brush to brush on the two neutral shades from the eye-bun kit and press on. Once you’ve finished and pressed down the line, you can swipe on an under-eye shadow in one of these shadows and in between the eyebrows. Set the eyes with a powder for a softer shine. Next, starting from the point of the eyeshadow, run the other brush to brush on the brow and eyeliner. Next, using your lightest hand, work in half-moon shapes and smudge the paint. In order to finish the look, use your eyeliner brush to brush some deep brown to smudge over the eyeliner. Lastly, use your eyeliner brush to brush in dark browns, add strokes, and use the brow brush to brush on some light grey eyeshadow for an almost metallic effect.

To get this particular look, you’ll need: Paintbrush, Black Nail Color in Hard Surface, Aqualillies, Eye Painted Highlighter in Tinsel Faux at Saint Laurent, Cigarette Palette.

It’s so important to try and go away from everything it says about your body part when it comes to nail art.

A diamond cutout style could be something you love for Spring. Not too sure where to start? You could try these different nail styles that your nails will love. Try this Nail Magic technique or this Needle Cutout!

One of the easy and cool ways to mix things up is to paint one side of your nails black and the other black. The black on your nail can be whatever you want. This is such a cool and clever way to start, because it will cover your nails from head to toe without the worry of trying to find a matching shade. You can also paint this onto your fingertips if you’re getting bored with the traditional black and want to play with some colour!

Next, on the flip side, paint a white or orange one around the edge of your nail to make your nails look more neutral.

Happy crafting!
