4 Ways to Grow Nails Faster and Better Than Anyone Else

It’s officially starting to feel like Spring — and you know what that means: it’s finally time to dust off those duckies (wink wink, nudge nudge) and start over with your nails. With the average finger taking more than two minutes to set, we all know it isn’t the quickest way to transition from Winter into Spring. Luckily, though, some home remedies can help make your fingernails stickier and longer. Here’s how to use a few of the best tips and tricks to make your fingers look like brand new for the Spring.

Nail Polishes

Load up on polishes with lots of strength to grip for your nails, such as Sally Hansen’s Nail Enforcer or Toe2Toe’s Wild Nails. For light glitters or medium scratches, try Sarah Potempa’s Midnight Ecstasy or Deborah Lippmann’s Gothic Diamond. Personally, I like to apply polish with a knife — that way, I know I’m getting a super strong gel. I also clean my base coats and seal them before I apply polish, which helps my manicure stay fresh.

Top Coat

Don’t be afraid to shake up your top coat routine for Spring — apply a new top coat every two to three weeks to maintain your nails. I like to reapply dry top coats or wear top coats on weekends because my nails don’t dry as quickly when I wear them during the week. To give a flat or natural top coat a grip, dab some nail polish on to make it grip better.

Hair Oil

Hot, sweaty day at the beach — you probably know this feeling, and luckily you don’t have to go swimming for your cuticles to heal! Skin is covered in tough, dead tissue, which impairs nail growth. To speed up the healing process, dab on some products like Kirna Zabete Edible Oil, Sally Hansen Tanscience Nail Cream, or Essie Dry Mousse to moisturize and refresh your skin. If you need more nourishment, get a file from a beauty supply store, rub it into your cuticles, and massage your cuticles with a piece of rolled up tissue.

Hair Dryer

Maybe you’re trying to grow your nails faster and they’ve been laying flat for a while. To give your fingertips a new lease on life, you can try dryer heat for your nails and cuticles. I like my top coats rubbed into dryer oil instead of using top coats on every single cuticle and then applying oil. It gives the nail polish and oil a good grip.

Gels

If you want to make your cuticles go faster, try superglue and polish (you can also dab some body polish with the nail polish remover) to secure your cuticles. Gels will help grip your cuticles instead of soaking them in moisturizer. Try another treatment like Tecnofoil Olive Oil Body Cream.
