Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

The most unique part of our bodies, the fingerprints, if you will, are our nails. But more and more, this touch of beauty is under attack from chemicals, harsh oils, and poor treatments. There are so many diseases that may arise from consuming potentially toxic ingredients found in manicure/pedicure ingredients. With greasy-looking nails in hand, you want them to look perfect and long, but not as unhealthy as your body. So what are you to do to achieve those manicures that are light on the looks, heavy on the anti-aging process?

1. Choose Clean Shampoo/Conditioner

This one is pretty easy, though obviously not something anyone would use on a dirty habit. A cleansing shampoo and conditioner will get rid of any preservatives, cleaners, and chemicals in your shampoo (you could try this extract for a month to see if it works). But again, washing your hands before cleaning your nails will clean your hands immediately, so that you can scrub through your make-up and hazardous chemicals to remove them.

2. Clean with Pure Salt and Olives

Nails are made from salt — and like other tissues and lotions, you can add a sprinkle of green olives to clean your hands and nails between manicures. You can also add some salt to your gel polish when you clean it with a hot spot gun or polish roller. But you have to be careful not to allow the lactic acid to penetrate the nail bed; that would make the polish sticky and make it peel faster. But just add a few drops of oil to this shaker to help it spread.

3. Clean Your Hands, Using Pure Oil

It’s not all bad news, however, and your hands will feel clean when you do them before a manicure. If you don’t have oil on your hands, try rubbing it through your wrists, or massage it on your fingertips to get rid of any caked-on, clinging “drying oil.”

4. Add A Bit of Baby Oil

The baby oil — citral oil — is made from palm oil! This oil works as an antiseptic for your hands (even before use) to kill bacteria found on your hands. So if you have cracked or hard to remove nails, try rubbing it on your fingertips before using nail polish! This may take some gentle nudging as it is difficult to get the oil past the dead skin on your fingertips. But the result will be so worth it!

5. Add a Spray Conditioner to your Cushion

If you have extra time, spray a natural conditioner onto your workmanship cushion before applying it to your nails. This goes well with the baby oil so that the conditioner spreads all over your nails and works to keep them soft and smooth. The dry, but protective moisturizing conditioner will also provide additional moisture to your hands and nails so that your hands remain protected and healthy.
