Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

Despite the fact that most regular consumers understand the value of good nail care and serums, a poll by State Farm found that less than one-quarter of those polled thought that a daily manicure was necessary. Plus, only 15 percent of Americans are satisfied with the health of their nails (the national average is 15 percent), according to a 2016 Consumer Reports survey.

So we must be doing something right. As an addition to the salons in your neighborhood and online salons where you can get occasional pedicures, there are also DIY offerings you can pick up in the form of serums, ahi and moisturizing sticks. According to The Wall Street Journal, 31 percent of women are interested in incorporating these homemade homemade treatments into their nail routine.

If you’re looking to try your hand at making your own nail soaps or get a DIY nail treatment, here are a few general guidelines and tips to keep in mind:

1. Products Shouldn’t Stay on Your Nails for Too Long

Some DIY soaps or foundation balms might go on and off easily. Just be sure to wipe your fingertips for a minute before removing anything from your nail.

2. Don’t Use A Medium Dose Of Ingredients

Even if a small amount of all those ingredients is okay, you don’t want to overdo it. It’s easy to mask your own concern with sugar pills, but try to have patience with your DIY remedy.

3. Blend Them In So That You Get A Glossy Finish

For some DIY treatments, you may want to separate your ingredients and combine them in a simple liquid. (And note: Some ingredients won’t be available in the form you are using them.) Before blending all your ingredients together, allow the mixture to cool for 10 to 20 minutes to allow your ingredients to fully penetrate and settle. Don’t overmix until the mixture is smooth and glossy; the longer it sits, the more the molecule clumping together. Your DIY compound is going to stay fresh on your nails for as long as you are using it, so keep it looking clean and fresh.
