Stilettos are not always a sign of confidence. Although some people are predisposed to getting the taller and more manly thing, nail polish doesn’t always give women that confidence boost and help them reach their fullest selves. Manicurist and lifestyle blogger Princess Makina chose to create a look out of a nude manicure that me her look more youthful and empowered.
Makina explains: “Because of the number of girls who end up getting said accessories, it just felt like something we should create to be more professional as well as more comfortable to wear”.
For the look, Makina chose to use a she of Frenchman as a base to give the manicure a metallic sheen and finish. Then, she polished it with a tiny pump topped with a rose gold star pendant to create the wow factor.
Of course, the self-confidence portion of the manicure depends greatly on what the woman has in mind. For Makina, her nail polish makes her feel young and confident. And for her, it always was.
“Self-confidence is such a powerful tool,” Makina said. “Because I’m heavily self-aware and strong, it makes me feel confident”.
To score this low-maintenance manicure, feel free to try Makina’s tips below. Then get out of the house and go take that self-esteem-boosting self-esteem whomp that’s inside you for a walk around the block. What you walk around the block with is who you are. Be comfortable in your skin, and you’ll feel that self-confidence.
“Self-confidence is such a powerful tool,” Makina said. “Because I’m heavily self-aware and strong, it makes me feel confident”. And when you aren’t in this body that you’re “built for” you can feel even better about yourself. And when you feel good, you stop wishing for something better, and you start building it. Makina encourages you to don a short strapless top and work up a warm sweat, as you want the nail polish to wake you up the next morning. Smells are a pretty perfect way to wake you up, and actually relax you, which will help you have a restful night.

“My brothers came to Italy and they were slightly vindictive about that,” says Villa and Co.’s marketing director, Sam Aston. “I remember them being pissed off by the notion of me looking like a primonna – showing off my fortune, I guess”. Villa sees himself as having a “princely” figure, because he looks so elegant in a silk suit, but when he’s covered up in a cashmere hat or a leather jacket and scarf he’s “just not the same”.
While he doesn’t have a problem wearing designer sunglasses and dressing up like he goes to the right wedding, he’s particularly attached to sports glasses, especially the black magnificence watches that were so popular in his brother and sister’s generation. If there’s anything you can do to gain some more fondness for the category, he says, it’s to bring them back.
So imagine my delight last year when I came across one that looked just like my brother’s. With the same vintage look and similar scratch marks along the country ros, they me me feel like a royal with those morning wooden clogs. They’re so easy to wear.
