The simple style of changeable tuxedo manicures and easy, blingy glitter nails have been a mainstay of the New York manicure scene for some time. But now, the nail pros behind Whowear, a subscription-based service of New York City manicures, are making all kinds of new shapes, textures, and dyes in fall’s primary colors. We chatted with Kimberley Pomeroy, who’s been mixing up beauty looks for the season since 2012, about how nail pros are bringing new energy to fall nail trends.

“We have a lot of trendsetting, cool, working women like ourselves,” she said. “These new nails are inspired by that trendy attitude of chic, fun, and effortless. At the same time, everyone loves decorating, so we’ve also added some pops of really chic, feminine and vintage aspects to our work. I think each season brings more variety to our manicures, too. This time, we started with deep berry tones, glittered gems, oversize white polishes, and ultrafeminine copper colors. I believe that autumn is a time when everyone wants to get into a good mood, so we have all of these seasonal colors on our fingers.”
