Lattices: While they’re not necessarily trendy, they are a staple in all women’s beauty routines. Whether you’re looking for a quick he treatment or as a relaxing hairstyle, combing through a lacquer brush to get a piece of black strip or glitter all but guarantees a look that’s irresistibly chic. 1. Black and Tan

Black and Tan is a versatile option that’s sure to turn hes, but it doesn’t have to be intimidating. Just dip your fingers into it and pull on thick, sexy pieces of it. I don’t care where you go with it: Dark it in the morning and soft it at night. Try it with everything from a belt (right here’s one recently worn) to a little jewelry. (Also, it’s the only way to wear a bejeweled shirt these days… in black and tan as long as you keep it tucked in. )

2. Silver & White

Part of what makes this chic is that it’s also darkly flattering to dark skin tones. I just finished wearing a mini skirt by Ann Demeulemeester the other day and because of the pointed skirt, my darkest skin tones showed through. The silver and white lacquer is the only way to match the cat’s eye detail of the skirt—this should also be worn by darker skin tones. I do this with silver or black. I like to dip my finger into it first to help elongate the look. 3. Orchid & Pastel

Orchid and pastel lacquer complements everyone. This might not be the most trendy trend, but it is perfectly tailored for a woman of all skin tones and ages. I love to pair orchid and pastel with tassel-covered tops—even my most casual wardrobe. I also love to wear it over clothes in crazy combinations—I’ve worn it with dark jeans, a white blouse and high-heel boots, and lots of colors (literally), but this is the spring weather-perfect option. (Also, it’s pretty and practical, and it works with all your favorite kind of nail color. I’m big on doing something for the right nails, especially by the same nail artist—this can make the difference between a dirty or shining look, and you might start to realize this is actually one of my favorite nail trends this season. )

One thing I think can be missed with all these different kinds of nails is the trend towards industrial manicures—soles and coatings and brushes and brushes! You’ll quickly notice some ded detail in the feet or in between the toes, because we don’t have nails to clean on the heels. But while a polish will give you what you need, like ding a touch of color and polish pattern, a manicure with brushes and implements is much more creative and to capture the full (measureable) effect. So, yes, even when we go to the salon for a manicure, we treat ourselves to a painting session that’s intense! What are your favorite DIY manicure accessories, or can you relate to using one? IMPORTANT: Do remember that your hands are your personal most sensitive area, so always go to a professional nail salon to get the best treatment. MORE INFO: Look in the nail salon’s year-end wrapup to get all the different types of nails available on the market. And if you love having really stunning nails, make sure you have your nails professionally shaped so you can change the color of your nails as often as you want. 4. Twig

For some reason, Twig has become a favorite nail color this season. In addition to the whimsical pattern on the nails (and the sparkly detail on the tops and tops of your feet), it’s really pretty and easy to get to know your nail color. Pair it with pale orange, teal, or other cool and neutral colors. Twig doesn’t look dated or over-the-top, and it goes with virtually any and every style, so it’s easy to wear day to night, even the office! 5. Red Dip

This is another one I love this spring season: the big-red color that pairs well with any color you want to wear! reds work in a lot of different ways. You can wear it as a statement color—either to d additional color or to really attract attention to the top of your feet—but it also goes perfectly with just about anything! It may be a summer color, but it can also go with cooler colors or brighter, spring colors to keep things very updated and modern. 6. Peppermint

This one is a little light on color to be a trend, but no less fun—peppermint always looks fabulous on feet—so a whole lot more chic! Peppermint is just brilliant, and it gives you a little twinkle in your eye when you’re talking about the beautiful and feminine elements of your skin. What are your favorite DIY manicure accessories? 7. Watercolor (and pink!)

Watercolor nails look so uniquely feminine on your bare skin, and it looks even better with a glam colored acrylic nail. Plus, pinks are pretty easy to get; shop a little pink and you’re sure to find a bargain (to your delight!). 8. Maybelline Nail Enamel

Maybelline are constantly updating nail polish colors and hailing trends, and this year, we’re all about “hot pink,” and how gorgeous that color looks on the natural, virgin, and even brachy skin. It’s something very fresh and modern—and it looks great with white, red, and orange, too! And if you’re a fan of pops of color, MAYBE you’ll try out a deep lipstick or lip stain you can apply to your nails for a bright pop that comes across on your skin! 9. Wine

Oh, wine—it’s full of depth, full of history, full of venture, full of creativity, and the fact that it comes in more colors than I can count makes it a beautiful nail color you can pair with many different looks! You could always skip a big glossy polka dot or some other eye-popping, brassy polish to use wine as a neutral. Think corals, whites, or even lavenders; some colors even look extra pretty on black and brown. Wine is so amazing for an everyday wear, and your hands won’t look “dirty”—that means you can be “guilty” of wearing this color more than once a week! 10. Lace

Leave it to lace to come alive this season! In the very new lace trend (remember lace nails?!), the hair and makeup looks can be really gorgeous; even up-dos like the styling on Olivia Wilde look modern, as if she’s forgoing makeup and instead going full-on — and rocking the nails! The shoe-like structure, of course, is perfect for wearing with the most covetable designer nail color, black.
