Spring and Summer is all about comfort and simplicity; a lot of us opt for better hair or more lace up shoes. The same goes for our nails, if our recent editorial obsession with colored wood and sunkissed-out metallics is anything to go by. In our opinion, we’d rather have flashy, shimmery body paint with all the dripping polish than boring flat gold, cobalt, and a few yellow hues.

Every year, we peruse all our favorite beauty blogs to see what nail art trends will be big in the coming months. But it’s never the same! This year’s nail trend seems to have shifted toward a gradient between deeper golds, violet hues, and tints of aqua and sand, all of which are sure to join the rest of the 2017 nail trends, such as clay, purple, pale pink, and black, in 2018. So who will reign over 2019’s nail art? Here’s all of our favorite looks, from when the colors will actually show up on your nails, to which shade you can expect.

The tips will be black.

The new nail art trend of the year is both modern and crazy bold. We promise they look divine on fingers and toes alike. Clary Green, master nail artist behind the nail art trend of the year (in 2016) nails it again with delicate gold paint here, and like any good nail artist would, she makes sure to give the inspiration and inspiration to other nail artists out there! She may give a nod to pal Kim Kardashian’s look from October 8, 2018, but everything is a bit different.

Ice-green lights.

Lofty, mystical green-and-blue patterns should always be in abundance with your nails. This trend, which can be colored in either green or blue, is particular for streaks. Clary Green hasn’t mastered the look yet, but if you’re willing to try a little more color, try rocking a tiny light floral or floral heart, or favorite color, to bring your look up a notch.

Opting for 16/20 shades of black.

One color will be ahead of its time, and the fresh black stripes of summer are this year’s 18/20 trend, as per founder Shyanne Wasilcka. The skin tone of each black stripe is a bit different, and we are in for years to come of expertly executed set tattoos using Black Magic.

Sexy colors like ecru, coffee, lavender, black, and pale pinks.

Reclaimed natural eyeshadow is being reborn into beautiful, natural-looking black and brown hues for new-to-the-scene trends. Clary Green nails, and the latest promo shots for the Unison by Carolina Herrera Spring 2019 show, showed these gems out in full force. We’re hoping we’ll see eyeliner pencil black and vibrant rusts and blues on the nails again.

Bold magenta.

Match your nail art to the season and season’s trends. The trend is no longer just for red lips or nail art, but a lilac hot pink. Especially for Caski BOP fans, we’re giving away a free set!

Stunning bone art.

Up in here, as if clary Green has not been building up for the perfect nail art look, the death-metal hammer-onset vibe is getting one step ahead of the game. Models in the most recent season of Cokie BOP looked librarian-chic in full bone, yet sexy. Save a cushion for the nail art trick to give it a hint of industrial grunge.

Mad, ruby reds and deep blues.

As a maroon trend that’s been in high demand since 2016, clary Green nailed it here. Here, Clary Green is giving us a masterclass of the new hot maroon nail trend for fall and winter. Try keeping your top coat dry to hold your paint bottle dry, while letting cool air move through the polish. These look super staining and flawless – just let the black polish dry for the pigment to fall off, or a little of red color, just to add depth to your leopard nail hue.

Dramatic dull greens.

The symbol of 2018 is to rock pale greens and then some. Whether done with a custom painted nail, an overdyed manicure, or one of the many green sparkle nail enamel enamel collections, the swirls on your nail are sure to be a huge trend for Fall 2019. And that’s just great.
