These kind (and funny) tips for men who are trying to manage work and parenting in modern America prove we need more mothers taking the reins when it comes to parenting advice.
The post, published by the Instagram account @ShareFathers, advises men to borrow some of the ways a modern working mother carries herself out, whether that means styling their hair or blending a variety of their different experiences together.
“I don’t know why it feels so necessary that men are conditioned to represent the woman-child role rather than the full unique person that is male,” the caption reads. “Rise up and be the man we all know that you can be.”
Signing off the post, they add: “Be a man – the best kind of man – and respect all women enough to be sure they are being treated as best as they can possibly be.”
The post has since been shared thousands of times, with comments praising the caption as “ridiculous” and “brave” and “amazing.”
