Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

Nail salons can be as innocent as salons can be. But a recent study by the University of California, Davis, found that salons at six salons nationwide are likely to infect salibands with salmonella and listeria. Those salacious salons: a nail salon in Manhattan’s swanky meatpacking district and a chiropractic clinic in L.A.

The study’s lead researcher, Alicia Casa Calvo, a Ph.D. candidate at UC Davis, is among the growing number of health experts warning about the dangers posed by nail salons. And not only because infections are costly for the patients, and salmonella and listeria can lead to death, as a Spanish study published in 2013 found.

“Salomalia infections are very, very common, and they can be very serious and life-threatening,” says nurse practitioner Christy Baillie, who handles the health page for consumer website Nail Salon Reviews. “There are many other ways we can get infections besides salmonella, listeria, molds, and fungi.”
