Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

For many men, when they hit a rough patch in their lives, they turn to their fingernails for what they need: direction. A self-affirming nail “finger,” an upgrade to those All-Star design disasters, will see your progress through the toughest times and remind you just how accomplished you really are. (OK, so it also helps when your life seems more complicated than ever.)

But as with all masterpieces, the nails you obsess over above others only add to the pile of them that you should trim first. In honor of National Nail Day (Jan. 31), we’re breaking down what 5 mistakes we men make before we re-evaluate those single digits.

1. The “my finger is dying” one

Nail “causes” are unlike other kinds of ailments. If your nails don’t grow back like they were before they broke, they can turn out to be a scary fact of life. That’s especially true when you’re already in your 30s. Sometimes certain conditions, like food poisoning, can cause nail “causes” to continue to affect the fingers, toes and palm of your hand. But if any of your other ailments (plagued joints? chronic joint pain? sleep issues?) have nothing to do with your nail career, they’ll likely get better once you get to the root of the problem.

2. The “I hate my fingers” one

Before you get too down on your toes and fingers, it’s important to point out that these appendages are part of the human anatomy. What we do with them will determine whether they’re going to be used for anything beyond scratching, biting and playing with your nails. For most of us, nails are nothing more than pointers.

3. The “it looks like they’re reaching for my job” one

Sure, we probably pine for a bigger job, or an opportunity to change careers, but there are still plenty of tasks for us to accomplish with our hands. We shouldn’t feel like they’re missing a beat if we can’t find an opportunity to use them. One way to stay in shape is to do more than just crossword puzzles and read, baby. Whether it’s treating yourself to a better car or plopping down in a better chair, we can all find time to be well beyond petty as we pursue our career.

4. The “we need more nail beds” one

Unless your dental conditions are severely out of control, it shouldn’t matter what nail beds your fingers have. But if they’re worn away to the point that your tips look like kebabs, it might mean you need new ones. Either that, or you need to do more than just replace your nails.

5. The “stop comparing yourself to others” one

Nail “careers” aren’t even a thing just yet, but we’ve come to learn that even if we all had the same chosen profession, we would all have an intensely different style. Sometimes it’s important to look away and marvel at the beauty, right? But other times, it’s important to show the cracks in your nails because they speak to your life experience.
