We’ve all had days where, for whatever reason, we just can’t decide what nail polish to buy. Truth be told, it happens to the best of us. Case in point: I recently took a trip to New York City for work and visited the subway and, sure enough, arrived at my train sans nails. For those of you who don’t know how life is, what that means is that my trip is just another day of writing. It’s a hustle.

Thankfully, one of my favorite beauty bloggers, Amanda Romero, was not that sad. She took to Instagram to share a photo of her trip home from work. Upon returning to the comfort of her apartment, the girl who is a self-professed nail-watcher caught up on her timely Netflix binge.

The social media star and product influencer posted a photo of her hands, which, well, you can’t help but read her caption. It reads: “I spent two hours glued to this Netflix show. Three hours glued to that Netflix show. And another hour glued to thatNetflix show. On my hands.”

No surprise, that, combined with the hint of a red mani, made me want to get my hands (for the moment) wet. How? Where? While I’m not sure of the exact shade, it’s definitely a standout finish.

What’s even more interesting about the neutral color is that it’s from 2018, using a fourth-generation Stila flat pencil — something of a unicorn for ombre manicures, because the brand hasn’t used it since 2014.

What’s most cool about the manicure is that it’s “clean,” meaning it’s not loaded with glitter. It feels really healthy, and it’s great for the nail color wearer because it gives them a beautiful “no-color-a-day” look. And why not? Don’t we all want to look good no matter what the occasion? We can’t all be astronauts or wild animals (or travel to the moon!), but sharing pictures of beautiful colors with your nails is the perfect way to indulge when your affections turn to precision and technological achievements.

Head over to Amanda’s Instagram to see the photo of her hands (preferably in person), and to learn more about her makeup routine. Now, let’s order a one-size-fits-all, Stila flat-balloon.
