Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

Wondering how to keep your nails looking shiny and healthy? Salon specialist and founder of the French-inspired nail brand I.N.T. Nails, Plaid Ragajlen, answered our questions.

1. Injecting your nails with the right sort of hydration will keep your nail bed soft and intact, keeping it strong and healthy.

“When we stick to a routine — even for the best of reasons — we tend to see better results,” says Plaid Ragajlen. “Hydrating is an invaluable tool to reach our internal spa. The point is to drink enough water to keep your body hydrated all day, not just when you feel thirsty. That’s how you’ll get the best results with your self-care routine.”

2. You can control color by opting for a lighter shade. But Plaid recommends a bit of a challenge.

“Add extra layers in the right places, and end up with a light gray or light jet color. With more layers, you’re less likely to feel the stress of coloring,” she said.

3. Suppress the dry, prickly feeling of your nails by investing in the right nails countertop.

“It doesn’t matter what kind of nails you’re using, or what job you’re doing in the real world, you want to use the best possible nail countertop — because it affects your overall experience,” says Plaid. “Nails have a life span that’s only about six months at most. Invest in a good salon countertop that helps you keep them healthy, strong, and shiny all the time.”

4. To keep your nails looking healthy, don’t oversculpt them!

“You don’t need to go entirely unnatural or overdone in your nail design,” says Plaid. “A well-maintained base, spongy texture, and wavy/cyan/gray nails — don’t overdo it! You should use your nails less — touch up spots/bite them down less. In terms of upkeep, cuticle-care is extremely important — clean them well, mix simple forms with normal oils or oil/olives, and feel comfortable and calm with them while daily.”
