Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

When an emergency to get to the hospital quickly is just around the corner, taking our newborn baby to the hospital is critical. Here are some ways to properly take care of your precious little one’s fingernails while at the hospital.

1. Use Baby Baits

Baby Baits come in small packages and are excellent for baby nails; give them a squeeze to make sure your baby nails don’t stick out. The scrunching method, or gently rubbing the nail with your thumb, also works great. If you do receive a higher a grade of baby nail infection than expected, drop your baby off at the parent pickup and the parents will be on their way to their new baby.

2. Wash Nails

It’s pretty common knowledge that applying pure and clear nail polish at the hospital is out of the question. Instead, we recommend using baby products or baby brushes to clean and polish baby nails. If your baby’s nails grow out in a few days, you can try using a gel nail polish, but give it a week or two to be completely dry before attempting to use a solid polish.

3. Wash Hands

We got a question from a reader who read an article about the infection and infections being passed from a baby to an adult. Since we do not hold the child for the overnight hours, we suggest wiping her hands clean with a washcloth after each time she applies nail polish. This will protect your baby from touching anything that’s greasy or comes into contact with her bare skin, like her father’s fingers.

4. Pinch the Fingers

If you don’t have a small baby, you can still get extra care out of your little one’s nails by gently pinching them or pulling them toward your fingers. If there are any splinters or blood between the nail and your finger, just apply pressure for a few seconds. This will help to smooth out any splinters or blood on your finger. However, avoid using this technique on the baby with long nails; the swelling they produce can be extremely painful.

5. Use Super Blue Goo

While you’re in the waiting room, a special product might be more comfortable than your usual nail polish. If you’re unable to find the right product, try it out with super blue gel nail polish or a clear pomade. The clear coating will continue to protect the nail as it dries and the blue polish will make nails glow even better. An extra option for everyone: these nail polish removers are just as popular with new babies as they are with adults.

6. Apply Neutrogena Gel Solution

Before applying your manicure, look for something with a gel effect. Neutrogena gel formulas are great for fixing your nails after application, removing excess shine, and even lubricating the cuticle. Simply apply the polish with a brush and gently shake your fingers vigorously to get the best seal of a perfect manicure.

7. Apply Design Solutions nail and cuticle solution

The next option is to try Design Solutions, a simple and affordable solution that helps to dry nail and cuticle as well as reduce the appearance of spotted or rashy nails. Simply mix one teaspoon of Solution with one teaspoon of diluted nail polish remover in a measuring cup. You can apply the solution in between your fingernails and evenly distribute the solution over the nail bed. After application, gently rub the cuticle area over the solution and continue until you want it to dry completely.

8. Apply Polish

Of course, if you’re unlucky and your baby has a higher-than-expected grade of infection, it’s best to wash her nails with a nail enamel while holding her hand.
