Nearly every woman has wanted to try putting those nail conkers on her nails (which are stained and muddy) but never had the time or actually cared to. Self-taught nails technician Tammy Pokorny just fixed that problem with her DIY polish, a DIY kit of DIY basics that she and her team at Copperhead Nails (where I also went for some trend-setting fingertips last week) created for a clever way to try on every nail, every day.
It’s because of the DIYs that Tammy wanted to find the best hacks to try out at home, too. After thousands of critiques on YouTube and Instagram, she was able to come up with the essential nail-weaving and joining hacks to pair with her DIY nail art. Keep reading to find your favorite.
You can never know when your nails will be the best. So if you’re going to put conkers on your nails, now is the time to try it. Then stick to lots of neutral colors like this navy. A former nail polish artist, Tammy recommends this orange and gray-gray combination for day or night. It’s a great pairing for an all-over polish, especially with a little fish print.
“A lot of people never have the time to apply or put things on their nails every day, so I’m going to be putting this on my nails everyday,” Tammy told POPSUGAR. “You can also use the same techniques to knot shoes, shoes, and luggage. You can even use it to tie your hair or put on jewelry.”
