Or make permanent tattoos forbidden by law? I won’t just wear nail art anymore, am I right? While nails may look like a small part of a person’s beauty routine, they have a big influence on how a person’s body feels. Your nails can stimulate our perceptions on our physical bodies, how they move, look and interpret our moods and feelings. People who look and feel good together look and feel good on each other too. The more connected we feel, the more we begin to know who we are and not be afraid to let us be who we are. Through my nails, I can easily portray two different versions of myself: the confident, confident dresser and the confident, confident arm-grabber. This variation of me is both my strength and my weakness: making me feel both great and letting me feel terrible. When I feel confident in both of these roles, my body feels better and my self-confidence grows. When I feel insecure in either role, my body feels weak. While manicure-ing one day, I felt insecure and nervous. Feeling nervous and feeling insecure when doing a manicure is as old as this business. But right now, these feelings aren’t in my he. They’re right in my beautiful nails. I keep my nails manicured daily for three or four hours every day. And if my nails feel on-point with how I feel in my brain and body, then my confidence must also feel okay! I love the message of nails being a connection to our body. With a manicure, we can see past the superficial details of our nails. We can see ourselves as a whole woman, a full person, not just a list of digits. But, when someone finishes a mani and says “yes,” my skin awakens and my body is put at ease. So, nail art can create a sense of self-identity for me by linking my nails to my body. When I’m finished with a mani, I feel like I can say “yes” more. I might brush on lipstick when I leave my manicure appointment, and I know that the pieces of my life are all in place. I’m ready for my photo shoot. I like to flirt and throw my arm around guys’ shoulders. Being me all the time is a good thing, and also it helps my sense of self-esteem. While beauty services and nails are generally not part of the same category of beauty, my mani always brings out the best in me. And my nails don’t have to be one-size-small-and-other-ones-large-but-these-are-major-stupid-other-stupid-but-they-are-stupid-they-are-stupid-but-they-are-stupid-they-are-stupid. As I continue to grow into myself, it’s important to let myself define myself, since I’m the one who can answer the question “What are you? ”

The most successful women in the world know that having a healthy body can put them in the best position to have the best life. When you think of what a nail he can do for you, the good place to start is your own body. Your nails can give you a boost of your own energy. You can feel healthy and you can feel sexy, in a way that your nails only know. Do what you love doing, whatever your small challenges are, and make your nails be your little little body companion, the best body, the best women of you. Allison Parker Photo by Sara Sepedy. One of the things you are thinking in this article is that manicures are really good for the self-esteem, right? Putting on nails and showing off what you look like makes you feel like the most confident thing you have in your universe of existence. Well, I feel like that is a pretty big fail. You may look pretty, but that doesn’t mean you feel as good as you can, and therefore no, not improving your self-esteem with nails.Or you may feel pressured to do something with nails, such as visiting a salon or manicurist. Nope, the idea of using nail polish on your body is a complete failure. It might be close but it still is not perfect. Check out this video I me with our Creative Director, Sarah Inglis, showing you some ways that manicures can improve your self-esteem! About Sarah Inglis Creative Director, Strategist, Partners and Mavens. Sarah Inglis is the Creative Director, Strategist, Partners and Mavens for NYX Cosmetics, a magical edgy brand of cosmetics. Sarah joined NYX from Colgate-Palmolive and drove the wholesale sales and marketing for her personal brand. In 2012, she was appointed as the Co-Founder and Creative Director of NYX, a visionary, bold young brand. Mary Jo Foley President, NYX Cosmetics, Inc. in 2010 took Sarah on in a strategic partnership and innovated the direct-to-consumer business model of NYX Cosmetics. NYX is now the fastest growing nail and makeup brand in North America. I am passionate about small business and have always placed importance in retaining control of my own destiny. I am ambitious and committed to getting where I want to be with NYX. If that means working harder, I will. When you want something b enough, hard work will always pay off. In a world where everyone is so busy and many are stressed and too stressed to truly be themselves, NYX helps people hold on to their authentic selves by being positive in our skin, our work and our relationships. Along the way, I am driven by NYX’s mission to help us lead and live our own awesome life. Mary Jo Foley, MD, Medical Director of New York Skin & Laser Spa is passionate about taking our female clients “from tired, cracked, tired women into women ready to tackle anything.” NYX’s products are committed to custom face and body treatments so you can come in here to heal yourself. I have been there for NYX for a number of years and love them. I’m lucky to be able to work with that brand, to be able to tell a brand story. They’re completely owned by a very visionary female entrepreneur in New York City, [and] that founder is embracing her own experience and deciding what she wants to start and what she wants to be, and she is putting herself out there to start a movement in all areas of her life. As a mother, a wife, a beauty maven who works, it’s a life-changing experience for her. NYX has been her life for the last two and a half years. Another key aspect of my journey is my partner “his” name is a great name, we joke around a lot, he was the marketing person. But I feel like he has really been our artist, our architect and the most creative person we have. I think that this company has been really good to us. When I first worked for NYX, we opened a brick and mortar in that area. New York has amazing art studios downtown where we set up NYX boutique so we could go in and have a glass wall all the way to the loft. I know a lot of people say that going to a nail salon, or going to a spa, working in a office, it’s not going to change your life. It totally can, we’ve proven that and we’ve shown time and time again what can change your life. We want to be businesses and people and make the world a better place. NYX is in some ways that way. We’re innovative, we’re charismatic and we’re in some ways, very brash. We need to be brash in order to be healthy. It’s really a cliché but I really do believe that being unafraid of change is the best way to be successful. I feel like we need to be masters of our own industry; we have a vision that we are very clear on, we are bringing that vision to market right now. I think there is a shift in the zeitgeist towards “me” more than ever before. When I started NYX two and a half years ago, I believe it was fashionable to “change yourself.” At NYX Cosmetics, it’s still ok to do a self-image makeover or if you have a specific issue that you want to dress, you can take it from there. I see a lot of people trying to reinvent themselves and get healthy, to get healthy, to get fit. NYX does all of that and we are doing that for ourselves at the same time. People see NYX as this edgy, dark, leather brand
