Winter is still around and once again, our shiny toes are in danger of brown tootsies and unwieldy block heels. Resist the urge to wear flip-flops when an updo would do just fine. Instead, prep your tootsies for Winter with these seven steps to try with a pair of classic white nail polish shades. They’re sure to make your summer nails shine a few months longer.

1. Paint up your fingertips in white nail polish!

White polishes are the greatest nail polish color when worn lightly—and not too much—because they won’t add any zing to your pedicure. Wear a cute white socks-and-skirt day look while walking around. You’re the boss!

2. Try nailing white tips with a silver manicure.

It’ll take you just a day or two to see how this insane trick benefits your pedicure. You’ll swear off cork toes.

3. Sweep a white shade around your hand with an angled applicator.

You’ll want to go slow with this one, too, because you don’t want to break the white polish by painting your nails with cream-colored polish.

4. Cut a 4-inch chunk out of your white spray bottle, and just put the little gel cap in the empty bottle.

You’ll be done in mere minutes, and it’ll be easier to clean off than a liquid polish.

5. Don’t polish your nails for a day or two, but lather them up with base coat to prevent them from chipping.

Next, paint one bottom coat in a powder white with a rounded tip, and use the other to paint a slightly darker white.

6. Top a grey-cotton sock with a sexy nail shade.
