Before and After: How to Remove Bad Color Nails Easily

Even when I’m taking a beauty break, my deep depilatory know-how keeps me relatively in the running for beauty milestones. I’ve started waxing, dyes, and self-tanners, which haven’t been as successful as my manicures (hello, midnight blue) but my most recently popular procedure is getting myself a bad color manicure. It’s my way of doing it my way and giving myself the bizarre but endearing rogue look. It’s also a little bit more costly, but the results are worth it. Below, I’ve chosen some of my favorites to share the secret to destroying a bad shade in no time at all.

First, start with the polish: mix the two colors and apply the colors to the nail bed. Scrunch the underbelly of the nail where the effect is to mimic faint burn. This will prevent the color from sticking to the nail as you scrub it away.

Slowly brush the paint away with a soft brush until you’re done.

To make things a little easier, set the polish on a wet brush. This will add length and control, as well as leave little room for the polish to smudge. To finish off, apply a clear top coat (like Laura Mercier’s Matte Cream Top Coat) to keep things looking perfectly polished.
