Mystic Nail Lounge, which we featured in a couple of Popular Science stories, is arguably the last nail salon to support empowering causes, proving to me once and for all that giving back is not just the right thing to do, but also completely worth it. The shop, located in Costa Mesa, California, offers every color of polish you could ever want (i.e. balayage, classic, colorful), however it has taken on an even more profound mission that is much more important than getting your nails done — a mission that stands as an inspiration to others as well.

The team is so committed to supporting women-centric causes, like the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, that it has given the proceeds of each new purchase made at Mystic Nail Lounge to them. This means that every woman who walks through their doors is making a new step towards her quest for self-empowerment. All the proceeds from nail polishes are either donated to an independent nonprofit of their choice or given to the same organisation that they donate to.

Note: The shops are considered a “specialty nail salon” and are “beautifully designed.”
