Give Your Nails a Huge Boost With This Home Remedy

I spoke with plastic surgeon & board certified nail specialist, Dr. Neil Hall from Hall Medical Dermatology to share his tips for stronger, faster growth of your nails. He recommends applying this homemade homemade remedy to your nails every day and doing it to your hands and feet too.

Dr. Hall recommends that taking an aspirin a day is great for the good health of your nails, especially those that are very thin or exposed as they can break easily. The higher the sugar content in the aspirin, the more effective it is. Also, rubbing a sugar-free lozenge daily will build nail strength and help break up discoloration and repair loose nails. The most important step to take for healthy nails is to reduce the number of cuts you take to get your nails done. A root canal for a broken nail or scratching nail is not a good look for the nail bed, so to avoid this cut, make sure you gently pick at your nail or cuticles weekly. An overgrown toe nails need to be cut at some point, so keep this in mind. There is another common cause of nail breakage besides cuticles or nail spikes. These often occur when you use nail polishes that are not made with all essential oils. Instead of nailing your nails with obvious nail polish with strong colors, start by applying an organic hair dye or essential oil color in small amounts to keep your nails healthy and a nice color. During hair dye application, the skin and nail bed can become exposed, making a cut. The natural makeup of essential oils helps revitalize and protect the nail bed from further trauma. When working with natural products, the good news is that when you use essential oils for nail polish, they are extracted from all natural products like plants, chia seeds, pine bark, or coffee so they stay put at all times. This gives a longer and healthier nail. While it is important to take an aspirin every day, use this DIY remedy a few times per week and, hopefully, your nails will return to their strong form with growth.
