Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

Nails definitely take longer and don’t necessarily meet your hands this Winter. But one thing that this winter is really getting down to business is picking out some time-consuming nail art colors. And who doesn’t want those chiseled parts? Luckily, there are plenty of tips and tricks to getting that perfect bottom nail perfectly shaped and frosted, so you can ditch the paltry polishes and get the perfect winter look.

As you peruse the nail-art options online, be sure to consider which nail polish colors you prefer, as well as the texture you have going on in your long nails. Winter is also the perfect time to get new polish, whether it’s letting color get to linger or applying color, for after hours wear.

1. Use a Balm: For color alone, choose shades in the same chartreuse as your nails so they are practically in sync. Apply a drop of balm or oils on your nails before painting them.

2. See which you’re most attracted to: You might want the colors that share the same topcoat. Or you may love the more unique ones on your nails.

3. Swap the previous polish: You might want to revisit a previous polish since it’s still up in your closet and on your nails.

4. Allow the color to stay: If you’re a bit insecure about your whole nail color, take it off. Stick it in your handbag, and a key will save you a lot of pain. Or just leave it on, because who wouldn’t love those shimmery crystal nails?

5. Stretching them out: If you have a long, unbalanced shape, opt for a thicker top coat. This makes it easier to push out color, so if you want them to get a little long, it’s best to start with a thick top coat.

6. Make sure your topcoat matches your nail color: This also applies to whether you’re not comfortable using topcoat that matches the color on your nails. A base coat will work fine for anyone, so an original topcoat to match isn’t a bad idea, especially for dainty little touches.

7. Read the directions: If you choose a fancy, over-the-top, flamboyant color and you’re unsure of what to do, check the directions for small adjustments you can make. Cutting the basecoat almost exactly in half can cause edges to look sharper, and using thinner brush tips for thicker paints to finish off.

8. Experiment with a polish: If you feel like risking it, a fun color can be the perfect compromise. In fact, some people prefer to select a gel or acrylic polish over a natural polish to be able to get the look at a more manageable price point.

9. Seal with a basecoat: If you want a more subtle look, use an basecoat (as long as you follow the directions to a tee and choose a matte finish). Otherwise, you might want to use a medium polish, such as white, to give a richer look.

10. Find the perfect middle: Do you want something slightly lower or slightly higher? If your nails are fine-to-medium length, the tips will have to be slightly lower to give a better lift. But if your nails are long, get the topcoat to the proper width.

And if you don’t like what you find, you can always ditch the fancy polish and go for something cheaper like a nude polish.
