Best Non Toxic Nail Salon in Houston

I have always been on the side of the nail polish industry in that I want more chemicals out of my nails. I do not believe in using toxic chemicals on my nails. However, I am also aware that I must use certain types of products for comfort, so that “all goes well” on my nails when my nails go through many different procedures.

So, last week when I saw they were releasing the new Avon Protect and Protect Kids nail polish product, I felt like it was the only thing that could help me put my “beauty” first.

Why am I considering going organic with the nail polish? Well, in this day and age we want chemicals like petroleum, glycerin, and butyl parabens out of our lives. This is especially true when it comes to non-synthetic nail polishes, because there are so many “safeguards” in place to keep these synthetic ingredients away from our children. However, when it comes to the nail polishes in the prestige companies, there are no guidelines set in place to protect or prevent the use of all of the harmful chemicals inside these polish brands.

So, Avon Protect and Protect Kids is the perfect polish to keep in my arsenal since the formulas are natural with no added parabens, phthalates, or fillers. Below are some of the ingredients used in the product that make it non-toxic:

5” Patent Pending All Natural Methodology® polish technology

Sulfate-free alcohol

Sodium Acetic Acid

One percent ethyl acetate (NAT)

One percent xylitol (XAN)

One percent malic acid (MAC)

One percent Dolinoyl peroxide (DW)

“One of the pioneering synthetic colorants”

No added fillers

Naturally occurring emollients

No sugary ingredients

No color in product

It looks great and I feel more confident than ever using these products on my nails, and it all makes me feel like I am doing the right thing to keep my nail polish clean and natural. I am continuing to go back to Avon as my nail polish brand of choice.

But what about the other products I may want to try while traveling this season?

Again, I have always been on the side of the nail polish industry in that I don’t want to see synthetic ingredients in my manicure, but I am also aware that I have to use certain types of products to get the “nail polish fix” when I’m out shopping for beauty products.

So, I will continue using my favorite brands like Carita, M.A.C. (and Fenty). But, I will also keep an eye out for the newest products, especially when they come out. Avon has many other brands I also have in my collection including Nioxin’s Regenerating Treatments.

Check back next week for my research on synthetic ingredients in polish and find out why I felt compelled to keep some of these products out of my beauty makeup kit.
